Concerts
We perform concerts for a variety of audiences. To date we have played in churches, for Music Societies, as the accompanying group for a Choral Society and as part of Good Friday services around the North Yorkshire Moors and at Sneaton Castle near Whitby. We gave our first performance in a residential home near Middlesbrough in October 2008.
The quartet has also undertaken regular mini-tours of primary schools in North Yorkshire and County Durham and extended this to secondary schools in Redcar & Cleveland during the last academic year.
We aim to create an informal atmosphere when we play, offering programmes containing one full quartet and a variety of single movements from all sorts of genres (see the repertoire page).
As educators we like to talk about the works performed, supplying a historical context, providing examples to listen out for during the performance, in a light-hearted manner which we hope adds to everyone's enjoyment and shares our joy in the music we play. |
